    Katherine first commenced with NACC NRM in 2007 after working for the Australian Government. In her 15 years in the natural resource management (NRM) industry she has held a number of different roles from contract management to operational management and took up the CEO role at NACC NRM in 2018.

    Throughout her life, Katherine has been passionate about using her leadership skills to improve the health of the environment in partnership with community. Decarbonising our economy presents a great opportunity for regional communities to be economically and environmentally sustainable. It is important that throughout the transition, we work with community to develop and deliver strategic solutions to the challenges which will arise. Katherine’s leadership in partnership with her team has seen NACC NRM achieve some significant milestones. In 2020, NACC NRM, in consultation with the community, revised the Northern Agricultural Region NRM plan (NARvis). During 2022, NACC NRM made a bold decision to purchase a home-base for their operations. In addition, Katherine and her team were  recognised at the 2022 MWCCI Business Excellence Awards for Aboriginal Engagement; as Not for Profit of the Year and; Business of the Year. Katherine has a Bachelor Degree in Administration (Marine Resources) (Hons) and is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course (2018).

  • Justin Bellanger

    Justin Bellanger is a C-suite professional providing specialist services to businesses to the natural resources sector. He provides executive services to NRM WA and the Aquaculture Council of Western Australia. Justin is also currently the Chair of the Biosecurity Council of Western Australia, a Director with the Centre for Invasive Species Solutions, a member of the National Environmental Biosecurity Advisory Group, and the Co-convenor of the National Biosecurity General Surveillance Community of Practice. In his spare time, Justin conducts audits of fisheries and aquaculture businesses for their compliance with international ESG stewardship standards. Justin is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds an Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management from the Australian Institute of Management, and has Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Aquaculture from James Cook University.

    Andrew has over 25 years of experience in the construction, communications and electricity industries in Australia, Southeast Asia and North America, including at an Executive level.

    In 2019, he was awarded Energy Professional of the Year for outstanding leadership, enthusiasm and innovation in the WA energy sector.

    Since July 2022, as Head of Changing Energy at Western Power, Andrew has continued to work across the energy sector to help navigate the energy transition.

    At Western Power, we're at the forefront of the rapidly changing energy industry, and we need to:

    • Connect and carry an enormous amount of new renewable energy in a relatively short space of time
    • Enable consumers to participate in new energy markets and services using their own energy assets
    • Better manage the electricity 'peaks' and 'troughs' both locally and holistically, and in near real time

    Nicholas is the Co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of the Eden Global Natural Resources UCITS Fund, which is classified as an ESG ‘Light Green’ Fund under Article 8 of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (“SFDR”).

    Nicholas has held senior positions within the Australian and UK financial services industry, bringing to Eden over thirty years’ experience in funds management (UCITS, MIS and CIMA), global institutional sales, corporate advisory, research analysis and capital markets fifteen years of which were in London working at Morgan Stanley, NatWest and Killik & Co. Nicholas founded the Eden group in 2014 providing portfolio management and corporate advisory services.

    Having relocated to Australia in 2002, Nicholas’ experience includes Managing Director and founder of the ACD Australian Natural Resources UCITS III Fund, a UK FCA regulated fund focusing on the natural resources sector. As Fund Manager, Nicholas outperformed the peer group fund managers and the S&P 300 Australian Natural Resources Index, providing top decile returns.     Lorraine Finlay commenced her term as Human Rights Commissioner on 22 November 2021.

    Prior to joining the Commission Lorraine has worked as a lawyer and academic specialising in human rights and public law. Her most recent roles have been as the Senior Human Trafficking Specialist with the Australian Mission to ASEAN, and as a law lecturer at Murdoch University. In her academic role Lorraine has lectured in areas including criminal law, constitutional law and international human rights, and has been recognised with a number of national and university awards for her teaching and research.

    Before moving to academia, Lorraine worked as a State Prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (WA) and at the High Court of Australia, initially as a Legal Research Officer and later as a Judges’ Associate. Lorraine is a former Singapura Scholar, being awarded a dual Masters in Law from New York University (majoring in Justice and Human Rights) and the National University of Singapore (majoring in International and Comparative Law).
    Lorraine has also been actively involved in a variety of community organisations. Most recently this has included being a member of the Executive Committee of the National Council of Women (WA) (2011-2019) and a Board Member of the Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Service (2013-2018). Lorraine has previously been awarded the Centenary Medal and WA Law Society Youth Community Service Award for her volunteer work.

    Lorraine currently lives in Canberra with her husband and two young children.

    Linda Miles is a Senior Trade Specialist for Energy and Low Carbon Transition with Scottish Development International, the trade, capital investment and inward investment arm of Scotland’s economic development agency Scottish Enterprise. She is focused on promoting Scotland's energy sector capabilities in Australia and identifying trade opportunities for Scottish companies in renewable energy and energy transition. Offshore wind, green hydrogen, Decommissioning of Oil & Gas, and ocean energy projects are of particular focus.

    Brianna has a strong affiliation with the agriculture and regional development sectors, growing up in the wheatbelt of Western Australia, and with over 20 years’ experience in the industry.

    She is currently the Chief of Stakeholder Relations, Sustainability and Strategy at the CBH Group; Australia’s largest grain exporter and grower owned co-operative, with a supply chain that spans the grain growing regions of Western Australia. In this role she is manages the Group’s reputation and relationships with its grower members, Government, industry and the communities in which it operates, as well as the Group’s sustainability and strategy portfolios.

    She is an alumni of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Finance.

    She is also a Commissioner on the Lotterywest Board and a General Councillor of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA.

    Paula is a widely respected leader in the WA business community, who brings to the Committee for Perth decades of experience in business development, membership engagement, stakeholder management and economic strategy from across the globe, with prior market dealings in the UK and Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Australasia. Known for her collaborative and strategically driven leadership, she is passionate about helping WA flourish and grow. Paula and her young family migrated to Perth in 2002 and the city and State have become close to her heart and pivotal to her career. Her career in WA has included publishing, event CEO, marketing and communications for aged care and a global law firm and State Director of a national economic development membership organisation. Since 2019, Paula has held various board director roles, and consulted to government, the public sector, universities, and a number of clients in the private sector on communication, marketing, events and stakeholder management.

  • Bronwyn See

    Bronwyn is an internationally recognised business developer who converts partnerships into market leading energy transition opportunities. With over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, she has commercialised numerous innovative industry projects in Australia and within the Asian region. 

    She was recently a finalist in the 2022 Global Gas Awards for her work on renewable energy to renewable gas. Bronwyn has worked to create new and innovative businesses in Australia and the Asian region. She recently originated several green hydrogen and ammonia projects in Australia and has been responsible for forming consortiums involving leading Australian businesses and international energy players. She currently works as a business development executive at a leading Australian energy retailer.

    Passionate about the energy transition and access to opportunities for all communities, Bronwyn is an awarded conference speaker on topics relating to energy transition within the Asian region. She regularly briefs government departments and international delegations visiting Australia to upskill on energy transition.  Bronwyn has been appointed to several industry consultation committees, acts as a contributor at the Grattan Institute and a Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Asialink Foundation focusing on energy transition and the green economy.

    Ray joined Carbon Neutral as CEO in 2010. A background in agribusiness led him to explore the benefits of carbon farming and the revegetation of unproductive farmland. He is proud of the company's success in providing natural solutions for addressing climate change. A leading player in the Australian voluntary carbon market, Carbon Neutral hold a unique position as carbon consultants, an offset retailer and owner-manager of Australia's only Gold Standard-certified project.

    Carbon Neutral has reinvigorated rural communities and restored biodiversity, as demonstrated in the restoration of 14,000 hectares of the award-winning Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.

    Up until January 2020, Ray was part-time CEO of the Carbon Neutral Charitable Fund. Previous executive and management positions in agribusiness include an agricultural economist role with a large corporate cattle farming enterprise, CEO and board member positions with several farmer organisations and state manager roles in rural banking.

    Ray is the responsible manager under Carbon Neutral's Australian Financial Services Licence and holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and a Master of Business (Marketing).

    Dr. Atiq Zaman is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Design and the Built Environment, and Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute, Curtin University, Western Australia. He is an expert in environmental management, and he has specialisation in waste management, planning and treatment. His research priorities include:

    • Sustainable production and consumption through innovative design and behaviour change;
    • Waste minimisation, recycling, resource recovery and sustainable waste treatment;
